Mt. Cook to Queenstown, NZ

 Mount Cook to Queenstown, NZ

 March 23, 2025

The next morning we ate at a delicious breakfast buffet that the hotel provided.

We left the hotel under cloud cover.

Jay pointed the bike north and ...

Kim followed....on our way to meet my man. He had stayed at a hotel in Fairlie . He had a little over a hundred miles to ride and  we had about 50 miles to ride to meet.

Going back down the same road we had came in on offered more scenic views.

These creek beds must be flooded with snow melting in the spring. During our fall visit the streams were a bit smaller based on the exposed rocks

Although everyone was glad to be back together, I was thrilled. After riding behind  my man for 56 years, it certainly was a different ride being behind Jay, who is an excellent pilot.

We were soon on the road passing through canyons of rocks and golden grass hillsides.

Our good friends, Kim and......

Jay were enjoying their first visit to New Zealand. Wonder if they will catch the New Zealand bug of love for this country like Larry and I have.

Lots of cool curves!

Aotearoa is the indigenous Maori word for
 New Zealand.

The clouds rolled in making for some unusual scenery.

Fruit country in NZ

After following this colorful river, we stopped to get a closer look.

I walked through all kinds of unique plants looking for the river.

Even the lichen was pretty, but....

The river was spectacular.

Isn't that color incredible?

Riding into Queenstown, the clouds were quite thick.

Fall foliage was out in full force riding into Queenstown.

It was so cool to see a paraglider coming off the mountain top in Queenstown.

Looking into downtown Queenstown

Brown's Boutique Hotel was a wonderful sight for our next two nights.
