Picton to Christchurch 

        The New Zealand South Island mountains 

The train stopped at several stations on the way to Christchurch.

              We passed by numerous vineyards.

              The snow capped mountains in the                     background of the vineyards                                     were spectacular.

The clouds hung right over the mountains.

Salt was being produced in ponds 

             Views of the ocean from the train                                  

                                         WOW!

The sea color was quite colorful 

    The end of a long day...we arrived in 

        Christchurch a little after 7:30 pm.

We gathered our bags and walked across the street to the Motor Lodge to get ready for the first day of motorcycling on the South Island in the morning. Wheeeeeeee!
