Road House, Tortola, British Virgin Islands March 20, 2023
Larry and I spotted scooters for rent during a visit two days ago so we were able to go directly to the source to begin our day. The ship did not dock in the port till 2:00pm so we had to move quickly to tour the island.
We mounted up and headed out of town on two scooters.
The beauty of the waters and the island that lay in the horizon were unforgettable.
The road out of town followed the coastline.
We came to the end of the road and another gravel road up the mountainside. We turned around and headed for a paved road to cross the mountain.
As we headed up the mountain the views from above were quite scenic.
On the other side of the mountain we were greeted by some great ocean scenery.
Another coastline ride...how fabulous is that?
Tropical views!
What a pleasant calm cove! Cane Garden Bay. Before reaching it we went back up the mountain on the curviest hairpin road....it was a wild ride.
We stopped at Stoutt's Lookout to take in the view.
Tourist unloaded from bus tours by the droves to partake in a little island refreshment and watch the dancing entertainment...a local gentleman dancing with a bottle of water on his head.
We mounted our scooters after a bit of a stretch and headed for the village for our own kind of celebration.....
For Larry celebrating was a tire swing on the beach....I just love that grin!
For Kim and I, it was dipping our feet into the sea!
Then we headed back up the mountain on another crazy hairpin curvy road and headed back to town.
Kim's body says it all.....Wheeeeeee!
On the other side of the mountain, we stopped to get a shot of our ship in the harbor.
What a great afternoon as.....
The evening sun sunk behind the mountains.
