Saint John's, Antigua March 17, 2023
Larry caught this colorful sunrise as the ship came into port.
We decided to take a local bus to the northern part of the island, called Cedar Grove.
St. John had some nice shops and restaurants with wi-fi right at the dock.
The flowers were working in overtime with fragrant blossoms.
As we walked into the city we came across many sites.
Umbrellas were popular when shade was not available.
Various tables were set up with wares...this one was just undies.
The president of Antigua and Barbuda
We visited the pubic meat market as well as the fish market.
These folks were scaling fish.
This lady repeated, "I love my job" as the scales and the flies landed.
What beauties from the sea.
The fruits and vegetables were oh so colorful!
They called this a pumpkin.
A whole aisle was just rice.
This friendly lady was peeling sugar cane.
VT Hokies(hat) are even in Antigua.
We thought "Cutie" was a fun loving politician.
At the bus terminal, we waited until the bus was full before leaving for Cedar Grove.
Our bus filled up with passengers after waiting about a half an hour. We enjoyed talking with these two sisters during our ride.
Cedar Grove had several upscale resorts. We were happy to return back to St. John's.
We enjoyed the view while roosting in the top part of the Captain's Tavern.
We had a fine sail away that evening although it was cloudy.
