La Baie, Saguenay River, Canada

La Baie, Saguenay River, Canada                Monday, September 17, 2018
There was a unique sunrise while cruising into La Baie.
Because it was early morning, we were able to see the moonlit fiords sailing in.

What a clean little quiet town in the early morn!
A float plane landed and dropped visitors off at the dock where our ship was anchored.
What a cute antique....my man!
This port gave the ship a 5 star welcome. Dressed in authentic clothes, the locals came out to the dock and gave demonstrations of life in the area back in the 1800's.

Now that is a different way to put up a tent!
Free maple syrup candy...and fresh blueberry pie samples...at 8:00am? These folks know how to live!
Live local music...just what Larry would request...fiddle and guitar!
Man made waterfall in front of the docking area.

We made a dash for our car and headed out of town....to the fiords.
Passed a little lighthouse in a cove and....
spotted our ship back toward the town.
Unfortunately we did not spot a moose.....BIG sigh!
                                                                       Clean streams  and ….
little waterfalls  were along the drive.
Signs of fall were more available here in the north.
First sightings of the fiords from the car.

We parked the car and took off on a trail.

                                                                What  untouched beauty!
What a tremendous rock jetting out of the ground!
Little waterfalls were trickling along the path.

Roots growing on top of the rock....what a sight!

We climbed the backside of a fiord....got the old ticker pumping pretty darn good.
It just got steeper and steeper.
The fall foliage was just beginning to show.
After the hike we drove on  passing this remarkable stone church and …

                                                               an old covered bridge.
We found the  unmarked second part of the National Park with another little hike and a gorgeous water view of the fiords.

                                                        The scenery was spectacular!

                                                                The  sail away dinner.....
                                                                      was an awesome....
                                                              way to end the day!
