We spent the afternoon walking the streets of Lowell and Bisbee, old wild west towns.

The Lavender Pit named after Harrison Lavender (1890-1952), Vice president of the company that extracted the copper from the mine.

Quartzite, Arizona February 28, 2022
We were thrilled to spot the first Saguaro Cactus just outside of Quartzite, Arizona.
Met these friendly folks, Steph and Marcia, in Quartzite....

Lake Havasu, Arizona February 28, 2022
We arrived at Lake Tahoe State Park a few days before the Bluegrass on the Beach Festival.
What a gorgeous campsite!
Dinner and...
We enjoyed the State Park tremendously....great biking, close to town....
lots of water sports to view....kayaks, canoes, fishing, seaplanes, jet skis, speed boats, ultralights...
gorgeous scenery...and very clean...
outstanding sunrises and sunsets!
We arrived a few days early for Bluegrass on the Beach so we decided to take a scooter ride on our first day.
It was fun to cross over from Arizona to California over the Parker Dam.
Really enjoyed spotting these burros....ancestors from the mining days.
Got back in time to enjoy this gorgeous sunset!
What an evening!
Every night...except one when the wind was blowing...we played music with our new friends, Herb and Darlene from Idaho, Dennis and Vivian from Oregon, and Virginia from Pennsylvania,
and lots of other folks....
Virginia with her autoharp...it sure looks a lot like mine; however the keys are in different spots.

Little Roy and Lizzy Show
What talent! Little Roy plays the banjo, guitar, autoharp. Lizzy plays the fiddle, bass, banjo, and guitar.
We stopped to have lunch at Granny's Kitchen in Why, Arizona on Tuesday.
We all enjoyed yummy taco and burritos.
We had so much fun with these folks every night.
We met a friend of a Jay and Kim's from Pennsylvania.

Everyone appears to be playing a different instrument with each song!
I hope I have half of Little Roy's energy when I'm his age...80. He was delightful to talk with.
I was thrilled to meet Little Roy in person...got him off his bus.
We had a fantastic time at Lake Havasu.

We drove to Phoenix Airport to pick up Chad and Kathy.
Stopping for gas outside of Phoenix, we found this fantastic display of dinosaurs.

We stopped in Ajo to find a post office and found a lovely village square.
Why, Arizona Tuesday, March 8. 2022
Stopping in Why, Arizona to get gas, we found that the town at one time had a road coming from Tucson that forked with a section going toward Lukeville, Arizona and the other section going to Ajo, Arizona; therefore, forming a Y. The state would not allow the tiny town to be named the letter "Y"
so they named the town "WHY". What a cool story!

Granny's Kitchen was decorated with lots of hens and roosters.
We all enjoyed yummy taco and burritos.
After passing through the Mexican Customs at Lukeville, we drove about 65 miles to Puerto Penasco.
Everyone was ready for a Mexican adventure!
