Cruising Milford Sound
Larry and I drove to Milford Sound in 2009 before I had started this travel blog.
We boarded a small boat to cruise the sound. We were fortunate to see so many waterfalls because it had rained the night before our boat ride. It was spectacular then, so we knew we were in for a real treat today.
The day had some fantastic weather.
The views were AWESOME!
Although from every point on the ship the scenery was spectacular, the Captain opened up the front bow of the ship for additional breathtaking views.
WOW...the cloud formation curving with the inlet.
The pictures really do not capture the beauty.
Fiordland National Park
The Westerdam also took us through Doubtful Sound.
Numerous small airplanes flew into the canyons on the sound...that was exciting to watch.
The waterfalls were coming from the glaciers melting on top of the mountains.
This small boat is just a speck compared to the fiord.
Are we fortunate to share this five-star day together? ❤️
