Rosarito Beach, Mexico

Rosarito Beach, Mexico               Thursday, May 16, 2019

Mike and Kitt have purchased a sweet little two bedroom/two bath Mexican casa, a block off the beach.
Authentic cobblestone roads led to their abode.
They have lovingly refurbished it with beautiful Mexican tiles, pottery, and art.

                                                        Exquisite stained glass is throughout.

Kit's green thumb for succulents certainly  shows off  her special talents here.

Even the toilet has some gorgeous Mexican painting.
We gravitated immediately to the deck to see the fabulous ocean views.

After the past few months of cold and rain....we were ready to soak up the sun.
Piper was ready to chase the ball on the beach.
Mike and Kit certainly know how to enjoy this beach.

                                                Neighbors from the beach side
We enjoyed a fabulous dinner of authentic tacos.  How yummy was that?
Kit led us into the famous Rosirito Hotel. Larry's dad took us here for a fabulous meal on our honey moon trip....five weeks across the USA way back in June of 1977.

Rosarito  was so much more upscale...dressier shops, paved roads, and new buildings.

Mike promised us a fabulous sunset....and it was.
The next morning Mike and Kit had a few friends drop in for an Eggs Benedict Brunch.

Piper was ready to go for a ride so we took off for a few local wineries in the Ensenada area.

We stopped at the Castillo del Diablo along the way.

Kit and I stood among the gargoyles.
Next we landed at the Frida Winery
The unibrow Frieda was painted and on display
Upside down wine bottles were lit in rows like street lights.

A sculpture of a heart reminded us of the importance of red wine for the heart.

                                                         Next stop...…

                                                           Decantos Vinicola Winery

Sitting up on a hill, the views of the vineyard and valley were inspiring!

How about this amigo?   Fashioned out of grape vine...cool!
the next vineyard had an inviting outdoor venue
The bar base is unique ...a tree trunk.

                                                      Larry enjoyed playing along.

Brings back great memories of almost 42 years ago.

Somebody's go to do it.
Day 110....The end of a wonderful trip...and our 2019 spring adventure.
