Palma de Mallorca, Spain

Palma de Mallorca, Spain                                 April 11, 2017
                                                  The sunrise was gorgeous and....

we had a  full moon while docking in the Port of Palma de Mallorca.

After a quick breakfast, Larry and I took a brisk hour walk into the town to catch the Bus that would give us a  tour of the area.
                                                          Crystal clear waters....so nice!

We had a gorgeous seaside view while walking passing the St. Carlos Fortress.

Once we boarded the bus it took us....

........around the vast marina of pleasure boats.  I especially liked the ones with the helicopter pads….this area certainly looked like it catered to the rich and famous.

We stopped at La Seu, a Gothic  Cathedral that towers over the city…built on a former mosque around 1230 AD…Spanish architect, Gaudi, enhanced the interior for around 8 years...it was a magnificent piece of architecture.

Turtle Fountain Square

This island is packed with fantastic architecture!
The flower shops were every girl's dream of  floral bouquets.

The bus took us by lots of scenic squares with fountains and old historic buildings.

An old windmill from the past

With a green mountainside in the background, it was quite picturesque.
Our last stop of the day was  at the Castell Bellver , a 14th century marvel., high up on the hillside.

From the castle we were able to capture a fantastic view of the surrounding city.

Lots of little tykes were coming out of the castle….a field trip day before Easter break.

We enjoyed our walk back to the ship….spotting a group of trikes sporting about the area….VAROOOMMMM.......and......

an old jackass  who moseyed over to greet us.
We got back to the ship in time for a late lunch ….and some soaking up the sun time. The weather was a perfect sunshiny 78 degrees….it doesn’t get better than that!

Another gorgeous sunset over the Mediterranean!
                                                                                      WOW!
