Costa Pacific Cruise

Costa Pacifica Cruise, La Romana, Dominican Republic
March 12-April 3, 2023

We arrived at the port, just a mile from  our Airbnb, around noon to find that we could not check in  till 2:00pm. The Port was gorgeous.
It had just been built and had only been open for a couple of months. It had a swimming pool and lounge chairs and restaurant. It was one of the best ports that we have ever entered a cruise ship from.

Decorative birds that a gentleman was actually carving were on display everywhere.

Unusual greeters at the Duty Free

The Sugar Breeze Cruise Terminal was a breath of fresh air to lounge around while passing the time to board the ship.

One last look from the ship at the bridge that we had crossed walking into town many times.

The Sugar Breeze Port Complex

Our room 8246

The Pacifica had six hot tubs...two up top, two in the middle of the ship, and two on the back.

The pool on top has a waterslide.

The 4th floor has  a chapel.

A musical theme was displayed throughout the ship through artwork and structures.

Bass fiddles or cellos appeared on most doors.

Plenty of seating in the Lido.

I admired all the copper pots and pans that were displayed.

The chefs really had artistic talent in carving fruits and vegetables. I enjoyed their creations.

Bon-appetite!

This cruise was taking us from La Romana, Dominican Republic to Castries, St. Lucia; Bridgetown, Barbados; Pointe-a-Pitre ,Guadeloupe; Antigua, St. Johns; Road, Town, Tortola, British Virgin Isles; and back to La Romana, Dominican Republic.

The second leg of our trip  went from La Romana, Dominican Republic;  Road House, Tortola; St Johns, Antigua; six days crossing the Atlantic; St. Cruz, Tenerife, Canary Islands; Cadiz, Spain, Barcelona, Spain; Marseille, France; and Savona, Italy. (Larry and I departed in Marseille while Jay and Kim departed in Savona.)

One of the most enjoyable times on the sea days was to play instruments and sing. We met every sea day at 11:00am and played until lunch at 2:00pm. So much fun!

Jay had his mandolin and Kim had a brand new uke-bass.... It was the perfect size for traveling.

Larry shared his guitar with Henry, a lawyer from Peru. Larry enjoyed playing his ukulele.

Chris from Mexico played his ukulele and sang.

Jose from Columbia sang and played Larry's guitar.

Larry enjoyed playing his traveling Martin guitar and playing  harmonica. I sang. My auto harp was just to heavy to bring along.

Joined by Jay and Kim Kreider in La Romana, DR we had a wonderful 21 day cruise visiting some new territories.
