Tellaro, Italy

Tellaro, Italy       Sunday, February  9, 2020

Larry and I headed out for a hike into the village of Tellero, up the hillside from our villa. Numerous locals walk the curvy roadsides around our neighborhood. We have shook our heads about how dangerous it seems when we see them while driving our car. Since it was the weekend, we thought that the traffic would be minimal so off we went to hike the sidewalk less roadway.

The day was cloudy and overcast.

We were happy to see the village appear after walking about a mile up our road.

Tellero had lots of colorful architecture.

The church sat right in the middle of the modern part of the village.

We hiked into the older section of Tellero that dates back to the 1300’s.

Weaving through narrow, curvy alleys we found the sea.

In the center of the ancient section of the village sat another older church.

Individual apartments were set up into these ancient walls....this reminded us of the basement of a castle.

This old stairway led away from the sea back to the newer part of Tellero.

Tellero was another scenic, quaint seaside village with a lot of history to be discovered.

What a great little Italian village! We were so glad that we took the time to visit this little neighborhood..
