Fukuoka, (Hakata), Japan
After passing through
immigration, with a 100% chance of rain today, Larry and I boarded the shuttle
into the city to just take a look around.
I love the way the orient grows greenery and flowers vertical. We have seen it everywhere.
We landed in the Tinjin area at the
City Hall…a 25 minute ride.
Two outstanding displays were on the first floor of the city hall.
Fukuoka is a very modern city!
Bike locks for those commuting by bicycle.

Located in Kyushu, the
southwestern tip of the four main islands of Japan, Fukuoka is situated along
the Hakata Bay. It is the largest city on the island and the fifth largest city
in Japan. Fukuokaand merged in 1889 with the close by town of Hakata forming
Fukuoka, although the locals will use the name Hakata pretty regularly.
It poured rain the morning
long so we returned to the ship after having a bit of mall time. It was
disappointing to not get to explore this area due to the weather. Next time.
