Sydney, Nova Scotia

Sydney, Nova Scotia                            Friday, September 14, 2018

The ship docked early in the capital of Nova
Scotia, Sydney.

The dock had the
world's largest fiddle displayed.

We were one of the first ones off the ship, knowing that it was going to be a full day to explore the Cabot Trail. It was a wonderful surprise to find our car rental  waiting for us right next to the ship. The driver whisked us to the dealership to sign for the car and we were off. It took us about an hour to get to the beginning of the Cabot Trail.
We brought the kids up here on a July summer vacation back in the early 90's. Intending to camp along trail; we didn't come prepared for a rather fridge night. Larry ended going to a local hospital for some extra blankets to get us through the night. It left a lasting memory to always prepare for cold weather when going north.
We enjoyed a wonderful drive along the highway, stopping a lot to take in the awesome views.
Having a car with a GPS made the drive a no brainer.

Do we spot a moose? Our wish to spot one was high on our list of things to do. Unfortunately, from past experience we knew that most appear only early in the morn or late in the evening. We did not enjoy the company of a moose because we had to be back on the ship during those times.

                                                      The views were spectacular.
The Cabot Trail was everything that we had remembered it to be.

                                                                    Nature at its best!

We took lots of walkways out to view the surf.

We enjoyed the little fishing village of Dingwall at the tip top of the National Park.

This was a fisherman's village for sure....pots were everywhere.
We headed back down the road...a three hour drive back to the ship.

We sure did enjoy the magnificent views on the way back.

Mountains were gorgeous and...

the curvy road gave us a thrill at the end of a fantastic day on the Cabot trail
