Barcelona, Spain to Vella, Andorra

Barcelona, Spain to La Vella, Andorra   Sat, April 4, 2026

We picked up our rental car at the Barcelona Airport and set the Waze for Andorra.
OH My Gosh! We are passing
Montserrat.

Larry and I took a train up to this exquisite part of Catalonia and visited a Monastery and Cathedral back in 2010. It was a spectacular day and a fond memory that we cherish!

We passed by fields of canola blooms.
Brilliant in the sunlight
This made us wonder how they get canola oil from this gorgeous plant.

In simple terms, they capture the seeds and squeeze the oil from them.

We stopped to have lunch at this refurbished castle village. It was a quaint area.
The entrance  street was lined  by old trees.

We enjoyed walking around this village.

We passed by ancient castle villages built on top of tall hills while driving.
Some looked abandoned while others were being refurbished.

Suddenly, The snow capped mountains began to appear.

Rock formations appeared on the horizon.

Segre River Dam

My handsome chauffeur

The scenery was exquisite!
 We passed through numerous tunnels!

Old ruins above newly constructed buildings.

Passing through Andorra customs was a breeze...
however, there was quite a backup going back into Spain.

We arrived in Andorra la Vella around 6:00.

We were excited to arrive in Andorra la Villa staying at Hotel Starc in the city center. The big surprise....putting our car on an elevator and parking it in a tiny spot underground.
It reminded us of Tom Cruise's elevator for his car in Clearwater....his goes to the top of the building...the penthouse.

Corfu, Greece

Corfu, Greece     Tues, March 31, 2026

It was a drizzling, rainy day so we rented a car to ride out of the city. The rental company brought the car to us from the airport and when we were leaving picked it up.
That was really great customer service!
The port had a nice building to seek shelter under until the car arrived.

We headed north out of the city toward Acharavi.

Larry was good at finding some off the road tracks. It made for a very interesting day.

We drove through a huge old olive grove.
When the old olive trees are cut back from the thick trunks, they grow new branches out of the sides of the old trunk.

Stately homes dotted the countryside.

Spring was in full progress with redbuds and

wisteria blooming.

Cactus appeared all over the island telling us that the winter seasons were mild.

A reminder of home

Unusual rock formations were along the coast.

Scenic walkway in Kassiopi, a gorgeous beach town in the northeast.

We can only imagine what the water color would be on a sunny day. It still isn't bad on a cloudy day.

We marveled at workmanship when passing numerous stones walls.

Kassiopi

Upon returning to the city, we passed by....

the old fort .

The old fort from the ship.
We spotted sizable fish swimming by the dock of the ship.

The old fort was on a peninsula leaving the harbor.

Corfu Town was packed with city life. We loved our day discovering parts of this great Greek island.
