December 19-26, 2019 Treetop 27 Snowshoe, West Virginia
Larry and I flew into Roanoke, Virginia to attend Brady Deal’s graduation at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia on Thursday morning.
We enjoyed the graduation ceremony on Friday afternoon. We are so proud of Brady for finishing his Master’s Degree in Public Administration and we were happy to celebrate his achievement with him and his lovely wife, Ryder.

We enjoyed a nice celebration dinner at Jackson Park Inn in Pulaski with the family. We shared a table with Ricky (Brady’s dad) and Donna.
Saturday morning we drove three hours up to Snowshoe, West Virginia to spend three fun filled days skiing down the slopes.
Every morning we had a gorgeous sunrise.
The days were sunny with lots of blue skies. This had to be the warmest temperatures that we have ever skied in...50 degrees by noon.
On Sunday everyone was ready to hit the slopes after picking up their ski pass.
Brady and Ryder Deal joined us Saturday evening. Ryder was eager, she was unable to ski due to a broken collar bone still healing. Chad enjoyed having Brady join him on snowboards while Kristy and Kathy joined Larry and me on skis. We had great time. We hope that Ryder will be all healed up and ready to snow board with us on our next ski adventure.

Brady and Kathy shoot us a smile while waiting in the lift line. The lines were rare; we all felt lucky to not have a large amount of waiting time since it was a holiday season.
One remarkable moment occurred when a deer jumped out in front of Larry while he was skiing down the mountain. I must admit that a snow snake jumped out and grabbed me one time.

Snowshoe has a summit elevation of 4,848 ft on 257 acres. It has 60 trails and 14 lifts with the longest trail being 1.5 miles.and a vertical drop of1500ft. We especially enjoyed the Ballhooter High Speed Quad and the Skip Jack, Spruce, and Hootenanny runs.

Snowshoe was a nice resort. With our condo on top of the mountain, we were able to walk to the slope and ski down right away. We spent our days going down the beginner and intermediate slopes. The diamond slopes were on the other side of the mountain.We had plenty of ski time without going there.
