What a great Christmas Holiday our family shared this year!
Our family ski trip was a little different this year with us all arriving and departing at different times. Chad and Kathy drove from Tennessee, visited friends in route arriving at our AirBNB home on Tuesday, December 20.
Our view of Lake Superior from the deck
Kristy drove from the cabin in Front Royal on Tuesday, December 20 arriving an hour later than Chad and Kathy.
The back roads were covered with snow and ice......weeeeee!
Larry and I drove to Orlando on Tuesday, December 20 and took an early flight out of Stanford Airport to Plattsburg on Wednesday, December 21 arriving around 8:00pm. It was great for us all to be together after so many arrival times.
The Ski Village
South Side of the Mountain
Our house had a gorgeous view of Lake Superior....a perfect spot for Kristy's morning stretches.
We had plenty of fresh powder everyday. The temps were even wonderful (30's) until Christmas morning.
We planned this trip to avoid the holiday lines at the lifts... we were pretty much able to ski right on to the lifts and gondola.....NICE : )
Kristy and Kathy are really fast on their skis....I just take my time and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
The sun shined brightly on....Christmas Day....the coldest ski day... 13 degrees...but with the sun shining, the day didn't seem that cold.
Diamond runs anyone????? Let's go! Both girls were ready for all the mountain had to offer.
Larry, Kathy, Kristy, and Kay....snug as bugs on the lift to the top of the mountain
This river reminds me of "OVER THE RIVER AND THROUGH THE WOODS TO GRANDMA'S HOUSE WE GO"............
....... we were going to the Mont Tremblant Village.
We rode to the Southside Village to get a minor boot adjustment for Larry's new boots. The Ski Village was decked out with so many Christmas decorations.
Slope side condos
Perfect place for a minute to relax
Two ski bums
The sun sets very quickly here.. around 4:30.
At the end of the ski day...two happy beauties who say..."Can we open the Christmas presents before dinner?"
My reply is...."It's fine by me....as long as I can sit by the fire and you two are the cooks."
The Hixson Clan says," Happy Skiing!"
